Two more Bangladeshis have been killed in an Israeli drone attack in Lebanon. An official from the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut confirmed this information to the media. Earlier, the embassy had reported the deaths of two expatriates in an Israeli drone attack in southern Lebanon.

Reports indicate that on Monday night, further drone attacks targeted another residential area of Nabatieh, where Bangladeshi migrants resided. Following these attacks, two more Bangladeshis are reported missing.

Mohammad Anwar Hossain, First Secretary (Labour) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut, informed the media that the living quarters of the two missing individuals were completely destroyed in the drone attack. As their bodies have not yet been recovered, their deaths cannot be officially confirmed.

Meanwhile, in a statement on Tuesday, the Bangladesh government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attack and urged all relevant parties to exercise maximum restraint and adhere to international law.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, two Bangladeshis were killed in an Israeli drone attack in the Jebdeen area of Lebanon’s Nabatieh region. Their bodies are being held at a local hospital. The two deceased Bangladeshis were identified as Shofiqul Islam (40) and Mohammad Nahidul Islam (20), both from Satkhira district.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the families of the deceased, calling the incident a ‘heinous attack’ by Israeli forces. The Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut is currently coordinating with relevant Lebanese authorities to arrange for the repatriation of the bodies of Shofiqul and Nahidul.
